A ceasefire on political posts?

This election has been a shitshow. What’s happened has happened and Trump is our president for the next four years. The world isn’t going to implode and life will go on. There’s not much more to say than that.

Yes, it’s your right to post political shit and blah blah blah. But it’s getting a bit repetitive, don’t you agree?

Ah but the measure of maturity/civility is the ability to disagree without being disagreeable. We all need to practice that a lot before the next election. If posts are offensive or otherwise counter to the Rules, we have a method to deal with that.

Ageism! Actually in all seriousness I love those. I miss my XV10 ES300 even though it was costing more to keep on the road than it was worth. I think my perfect car would be if Toyota had made a 1993 ES300 manual coupe. An ES coupe makes zero sense, especially with the SC around, but if it looked like that with the two-tone brown/beige, yellow fog lights and 3-spoke wheels mmmmmmmm

I graduated high school in Norfolk in 1982. An Oppo for whom I have much respect criticized me awhile back for being overly glib in my political statements on Oppositelock. Since then, I’ve been trying to be less glib about politics, though sometimes, I cave.

You’ve said a couple of things to me that caused me to raise my eyebrows and I wanted to speak to them, but I did not want to come off overly glib, or be misread as trying to be a dick or start a fight.

There’s a lot that gets lost when the conversation is just a line, perhaps typed hurriedly, and we don’t know each other at all. It’s easy to draw conclusions and for rhetoric to escalate in intensity. But not so much on Oppo, which is why I spend so much time here.

That’s completely true, a lot of conversation happens in the heat of the moment. I’m sure I’ve said some things that I’d look back on now and wonder what the hell I was trying to prove.

It is easy to draw conclusions, I try not to hold grudges though. Both in the real world and on here.
